Oil and Water, digital painting, 2011
I got my Flow iPad stylus by Joystickers today, so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I really like it, I'm going to write a review of it tomorrow on punchakitten.com.

This is the start of a design I'm working on for a "Year of the Dragon" print exchange. It still needs a bit of finessing I think, what do you think so far?

I got into playing with the iPad app ArtRage tonight. 3 hours later I was able to come up with something that looks like some of the analog paintings I've done before on canvas. I really like the blending that happens with the brush tool, it give the feel of wet paint. Very cool app, I'll likely be using it a lot.

Another little thing I was working on last night.

We had our first hard frost last week in Bemidji, so the trees are starting to change colors already. The changing colors on the trees got me thinking of making some Fall like things. Not sure if this will end up as anything, I just started doodling on my iPad and this was the result.

I'll give it a whirl tonight and give my review.

I just finished up a second print for a web site I've been working on called Punch a Kitten,
http://www.punchakitten.com. This site has taken up a lot of my free time lately, but its got a lot of cool features that could easily be used to build other sites. I frankenstined all the functions and classes that I use over and over again into a library and then built a custom CMS on top of it. The site concept is to post cool and interesting things that we would normally just pass around our office for the public.
I'm sure there will be more Punch a Kitten items in the near future!

I just swapped out my old and busted florescent bulbs in my exposure unit for new UV grow lights. It the first time in 5 years that I've had to swap out the bulbs. This should significantly cut down exposure times.

I just got an order of nice cream tag stock to print on today, and I was thinking some birds would look nice on it. It's so effing hot out that it's been hard to get anything printed lately. Paper curls and buckles under the humidity and emulsion exposure times are all out of whack.
Yellow Umbrella is having a reopening next weekend, and I'm going to bust a move in the next week and have 4-5 new prints for their opening.
